HemosprayHEMO2SPRAY - Hemoglobin Wound Spray The formation of chronic wounds highlights the increasing problem represented by such wounds in the industrial world; they are predominantly linked with wide-spread risk factors associated with modern life, such as diabetes, arteriosclerosis, obesity, smoking and premature aging. Chronic wounds not only severely restrict the lives of patients; they also incur expensive and continuous costs both directly in treatment and also indirectly in work time loss. Chronic wounds arise due to a lack of oxygen. Cells on the floor of the wound only just have the ability to survive. Metabolically and regeneratively, they are at the end of their strength, and they posses absolutely no power of self-repair. A further worsening of the already poor oxygen supply to cells on the topmost surface of the wound will lead to their death and the deepening of the wound. The wound is always covered by a thin layer of water, blocking access of oxygen from outside. Nevertheless, cells on the floor of the wound do have the ability to repair themselves. Given a sufficient supply of oxygen, they immediately regenerate. Sangui's in depth expertise in hemoglobin research and technology shows: hemoglobin not only raises the oxygen content of aqueous environments. It can also release oxygen very effectively from artificial capillaries as well from erythrocytes as a mediator. This effect is based on the mechanism of facilitated oxygen diffusion in hemoglobin solutions, such as HEMO2SPRAY. A number of successful attempts at treatment have already been completed. These have led to the closure of a number wounds that had previously been resistant to treatment and that had existed for a number of years; they included polymorbid and complex clinical cases. These results are more than encouraging, and Sangui will now apply for regulatory clearance of HEMO2SPRAY as a pharmaceutical jointly with a renowned German medium size pharmaceutical company.
